Tapio Wirkkala, 1959
iittala, Finland

2015 marks 100 years since the birth of Tapio Wirkkala. To honour the great designer and the centenary, Wirkkala's mouth-blown bottles will return to Iittala's range in the form of a numbered series. The bottles were originally in production between 1959 and 1968 and are now available in a series numbered from 1 to 2015. The bottles will bear an engraving to mark the centenary and they will only be available in 2015.

The Wirkkala bottle is blown into a mould. Its simple form is crowned by a neck with an unassuming decoration of glass strands. The bottle makes for a beautiful interior design element and art object that also works well as a carafe or vase for a single flower.

Two different sizes are available in two different colours:
4" x 4" x 13": Grey or Moss Green
4.75" x 4.75" x 9.25": Turquoise or Copper
