Stool_One is a stool, a sculpture, and an extension of the Chair_One collection. Modeled from die-cast aluminum, the Chair_One collection was envisioned as more void than solid. Wanting to use the least material to create the most product, designer Konstantin Grcic wanted the Chair_One collection to be modeled like a soccer ball, a grouping of small, flat planes assembled at angles to create a three-dimensional form. His goal was to combine comfort with structure.
This iconic and sculptural work of art is a stacking stool, available in a bar or counter height. Stool_One is constructed in polished die-cast aluminum or in die-cast aluminum treated with sputtered fluorinated titanium and painted in polyester powder. Suitable for outdoor use (anodized and painted versions).
