The allure of industrial production, in a bespoke interpretation for the home or office: this is Theca. The body of the sideboard is in natural or black anodized aluminium plates while the shelves are in MDF veneered in either cherry, natural walnut or black stained ash. Together with Magis, the two designers have for some time been exploring the functional and expressive possibilities offered by metal stamping, combined with the traditional warmth of wood. Theca is the logical next step in this process. This type of cabinet also has deeply-planted roots: it takes us through the history of furniture, from the 18th century to Scandinavian design, but it is perfectly in tune with the contemporary home. Theca comes in two heights and two different widths, to suit every space and storage need.
